About KCBC
The Kansas City Business Club exists for one reason: to help our businesses — and the people who work in them — grow, by growing together.
Our Story
KCBC began in 2020, when a group of local business owners decided to step away from a larger networking organization. The structure there worked well enough, but it wasn't ours — the rules, the pace, and the membership mix were all set somewhere else.
We wanted something with more autonomy and, frankly, more reward for the time we were putting in. So we built a smaller table: one where the people in the room actually shape how the group runs, and where every relationship has room to go deeper than a quick handshake at a mixer.
How We're Different
We cap membership at one company per industry. That single rule changes everything else about how the group feels — members refer business to each other without ever wondering if they're helping a competitor.
We're also genuinely selective about who joins. Every applicant visits the group twice and sits down with our leadership team before being invited in. We're not trying to fill seats; we're trying to keep the room excellent.
What We're Here For
Our first purpose is fostering real relationships among non-competing businesses. As trust builds week over week, members naturally become a resource for each other's clients and friends — and business follows.
Our weekly meetings are also a working classroom. Members bring the challenges they're facing right now and leave with solutions that have actually worked in someone else's business.
Our Spirit
We take the work seriously — the referrals, the accountability, the ethics. But we want every visitor to feel something warmer than a typical chamber meeting the moment they walk in the door.
The best way to understand KCBC is to sit in on a Thursday morning. Here's what it takes to visit and apply.
